What Is a VI Peel?

The VI Peel is a physician-formulated chemical peel system that uses a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients — including TCA, Retin-A, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C — to penetrate the upper layers of the skin and trigger a controlled exfoliation process. Unlike older-generation peels, the VI Peel is designed to deliver dramatic results with minimal discomfort and predictable downtime.

The real transformation happens over the 5–7 days following your treatment, as the outer layer of skin naturally sheds to reveal a fresher, more even, significantly more radiant complexion beneath.

What Does a VI Peel Treat?

  • Hyperpigmentation and dark spots (including melasma)
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Fine lines and early signs of aging
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Sun damage and photoaging
  • Rough, dull, or congested skin

Safe for All Skin Tones

One of the most important advantages of the VI Peel is its safety profile across all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI). Many chemical peels carry a risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation for darker skin tones — the VI Peel was specifically designed to minimize this risk while still delivering powerful resurfacing results.

What to Expect: Before, During & After

During treatment: Ariel applies the VI Peel solution in layers. You may feel a mild tingling or warmth — this is normal and temporary. The solution stays on your skin and you’ll go home with it still applied. Total in-office time is approximately 45 minutes.

Days 1–2: Skin may feel tight or slightly bronzed. Follow the post-peel protocol kit instructions precisely.

Days 3–5: Peeling begins. This is the magic phase — old, damaged skin cells shed naturally. Do not pick or peel prematurely.

Days 5–7: Peeling completes. Fresh, bright, visibly improved skin is revealed.

Week 2+: Skin continues to improve as new collagen forms beneath the surface. Full results develop over 4–6 weeks.

*Active peeling typically occurs days 3–7 post-treatment. Plan accordingly around social events. Results vary. A pre-treatment consultation is recommended to determine the best peel for your skin.

Common Questions

Chemical Peel FAQ

How much will I peel?
Peeling varies from person to person. Some clients experience light flaking while others see more visible sheet-like peeling. Both are normal. The degree of visible peeling does not determine the effectiveness of the treatment — the peel is working beneath the surface regardless.
Can I wear makeup during the peeling phase?
It’s best to avoid makeup for the first 3–4 days while your skin is actively peeling. Once peeling is complete, you can resume your normal makeup routine. In the meantime, the post-peel kit includes products to keep your skin comfortable and protected.
How often can I get a VI Peel?
For most clients, every 4–6 weeks is optimal during an active treatment series. Once you’ve achieved your desired results, maintenance peels every 3–4 months keep your skin looking its best. Ariel will help you determine the right cadence based on your goals.
Is a VI Peel safe for sensitive skin?
The VI Peel system includes different formulations for different skin types and concerns. Ariel assesses your skin’s sensitivity, tone, and condition before selecting the appropriate formula. A consultation is recommended if you have highly reactive skin.
VI Peel vs. microneedling — which should I choose?
Both are excellent, but they work differently. The VI Peel is a chemical exfoliation — best for pigmentation, tone, and surface-level concerns. Microneedling is a mechanical treatment — best for texture, scarring, and deep collagen stimulation. Many clients achieve the best results by combining both in a treatment plan. The Skin Renewal Combo package is designed for exactly this.
